Success Story Competition
Every Great Aluminum Can Roundup event has a story. Take a few minutes to describe your Great
Aluminum Can Roundup and how your group interacted with the community to encourage can recycling.
Your group can win up to $2,000:
Monetary prizes totaling $10,800 will be awarded. For contest purposes, the United States has been divided
into four regions, improving your chances to win. This year we've added a special "Recycling Coordinator Award"
and will be awarding a $1,000 National Grand Prize.
Stories will be judged on social and environmental impact, individuality, creativity, initiative,
and adapting a successful Roundup to your community.
Entries to be postmarked no later than October 7, 1997 for Great Aluminum Can Roundup events
conducted between January 1, 1997 and September 25, 1997.
Be sure your entry includes: your name, address and telephone number, the group's name and size;
the dates of your Roundup, whether a rally or regularly scheduled event; number of people who participated;
city/location where held; how many pounds of aluminum beverage cans recycled; how proceeds were used;
and how your group interacted within your community and made the Roundup special.
Open to ALL groups.
Entries should be no more than one page.
If pictures or videos help tell your story, send them along; however, the pictures and stories will
become the property of the Can Manufacturers Institute.
